Example The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council have started fall recruitment to coincide with the beginning of the school year. The drive is aimed at showing girls, ages 5-17, exciting opportunities to grow stronger through Scouting. Black Diamond covers 56 counties in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. Field executives and volunteers will be going into local schools to explain what Girl Scouting has to offer. Girls will be given information packets and adults are invited to attend meetings to learn about the organization and how it benefits area communities. Girl Scouts is a value-based organization striving to assist girls in strengthening family and community-held values. It is affordable for every girl, regardless of economic status. And it is inclusive, inviting girls from all religions, ethnic-racial backgrounds and family groups to belong. Girls in private schools or who are home-schooled are welcome as well. For information, contact the council at (304) 345-7722 or (800) 756-7616 or check out the website at www.bdgsc.org.
