Description Weddings Wedding announcements should be submitted within six months from the date of the ceremony. Announcements received after six months will be published in an abbreviated form without a photo. Wedding information must be at the Parkersburg News Society Department no later than 4 p.m. Monday preceding the Sunday it is to run. If more announcements are received than space permits, as many will be printed as possible with others appearing in a future edition of The News. All articles will be edited to conform to newspaper style. Do not use abbreviations. Include town and state on all address information. Be as descriptive as possible and only list friends or family members who have made a significant contribution to your ceremony and their relationship to the couple. (Example: Mary Roberts, friend of the bride.) Please do not include created titles without giving a full and detailed explanation. (Example: Wishing to incorporate the groom's children in the ceremony, they were given the distinctions "Junior Bride and Junior Groom." To have your photograph published in color, please arrange $25 payment before publication. Black and white photographs are published for free. Both can be uploaded from the next page of the Virtual Newsroom. Poor quality photographs will not be accepted. Photographs may be picked up after the announcement runs in the paper, or may be mailed back if a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) is provided. Photographs are kept on file for 30 days after publication. The newspaper cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged photographs or those not picked up within the time frame. Every announcement submitted must include a contact name and number. Please include the following information 1. Was it a double ring ceremony, open church ceremony, single ring ceremony 2. Bride's full name and address. 3. Bride's parents full name and address 4. Full name of Bride's grandparents and addresses: (If they are deceased, please put "the late" in front of their names) 5. Groom's full name and address. 6. Groom's parents full name and address 7. Full name of Bride's grandparents and addresses: (If they are deceased, please put "the late" in front of their names) 8. Date of Ceremony 9. Place where ceremony was held. 10. Who the Wedding was officiated by. 11. Who gave the bride in marriage 12. Who escorted the bride. 13. Description of Bride's gown, headpiece, and any unique details about her ensemble. 14. Description of Bride's flowers. 15.
