The following is an example.

Alan and Irene Melson of Beverly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Debbie Ann Melson, to Joseph Ranger, son of Edward and Lois Ranger of Elkins.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in elementary education. She is employed as a third-grade teacher by the Marion County School System.
Her fiance is a 2002 graduate of West Virginia with a degree in criminology. He is employed as a trooper with the West Virginia State Police.
The wedding is set for May 25 at Camp Pioneer in Beverly.

Other information that may be included in your announcement:

1. Full name of high school and year graduated

2. Full name of college(s) and year graduated
3. Current employment
4. Full name of prospective bride's grandparents and address. (If including names of deceased grandparents, please put "the late" before the grandparent's name.)
5. Full name of prospective groom's grandparents and address. (If including names of deceased grandparents, please put "the late" before the grandparent's name.)


Engagement announcements should be submitted no earlier than one year before the intended wedding date. Engagement announcements can only be run in the newspaper once.
Engagement announcements must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesdays to be considered for the Society page in the weekend edition of The Inter-Mountain.
If more announcements are received than space permits, as many will be printed as possible with others appearing in a future edition of The Inter-Mountain.

All articles will be edited to conform to newspaper style.

Photographs may be picked up after the announcement runs in the paper or may be mailed back if a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) is provided. The newspaper cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged photographs or those not picked up within a reasonable time frame.

Every announcement submitted must include a contact name and phone number.

Do not use abbreviations. Include town and state on all address information.

Please include the following

1. Indicate who is making the announcement.
2. The full name of prospective bride and her address.
3. The full name of prospective bride's parents and their address.
4. The full name of prospective groom and his address.
5. The full name of prospective groom's parents and their address.
6. Exact wedding date.
